Welcome to The Timber Trail Lodge, your ideal year-round, off-grid retreat.
Located midway along the Timber Trail Great Ride, our lodge is nestled in the heart of the stunning Pureora Forest.
Enjoy our expansive deck area stretching the length of the lodge, complete with outdoor seating and bean bags, perfect for immersing yourself in the tranquil forest surroundings.
Inside, discover our inviting lounge (the Hub), featuring elevated forest views, a cozy fireplace, comfortable seating, a selection of games and library of books. WiFi is available for guests in the lounge area.
Restaurant and Bar
Great food to fuel your adventure
As you return from your adventures, enjoy complimentary pizza and a cold drink from our bar. Evening meals are served family-style at large communal tables, perfect for sharing stories with fellow guests.
Start your day with a buffet-style breakfast offering continental and cooked options, accompanied by locally roasted plunger coffee. For your excursions, we provide packed lunches.
Our fully licensed bar features a selection of New Zealand wines showcasing top regions and craft beers from the Central North Island.
Where possible we source local and fresh ingredients supporting our local King Country producers. We can accommodate various dietary needs with advanced notice.
Your room rate includes all meals during your stay with us.
Accommodation
Your little piece of paradise
We have 20 rooms for up to 45 guests. All of our rooms are double glazed, carpeted and have radiator heating, with the most comfortable beds on the trail!
Some rooms have access to the large shared deck area, with outdoor seating and beautiful forest views.
The ensuite rooms have a bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Our standard rooms have shared bathrooms, with separate facilities for male and female.
We have double and triple rooms available, and room configuration options include generous king-sized beds and king singles.
Around the Lodge
Our remote forest location is perfect to relax and enjoy nature, or get out and explore, even if you don't ride bikes.
There is a stunning 1 hour loop bush walk from the lodge doorstep, with giant rata trees and lively bird life.
The Maramataha Bridge, the longest on the Timber Trail is also walking distance from the lodge.

• Drying room and storage crates for wet and muddy shoes and gear. Nb. We do not provide laundry facilities.
• E-bike charging stations

• Small provisions store with sunscreen, snacks, and limited bike parts
• First aid kits, Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) for hire, and Epi-pen, AED on site
• We have a phone that can be used in emergencies.
